Darren Siah reads his speech It’s just a preference, exploring the issue of internalised prejudice within the LGBT community.
Darren is a member of our Young Leaders programme. The Almeida Young Leaders is a scheme giving young people with something vital to say the tools and platform to do so. Each young leader has been mentored by a writer and director to develop their ideas, structuring a speech and skills in public speaking.
About Darren:
Darren is a recent graduate of the University of Exeter & National Youth Theatre’s Epic Stages Courses - and winner of the Gabriel Bruce Arts Scholarship award.
Darren is particularly interested in exploring under-represented narratives within UK Theatre having formed his own company “Rupture Productions” at the beginning of the year. Rupture aims to challenge mainstream depictions of modern life and present what it means to be "different" in today's society.
